Hi,
I've been in touch with sxc.hu to clarify their license which is
somewhat ambiguous. Despite my repeated attempts all they are willing to
say is the boilerplate answer ("see our license"). It has been
impossible to get a clear stance from them whether the Wildlife entry
was within their license or not.
I think the ethics of the entry have already been discussed, and the
compo rules will be changed for next year. Also we will ensure the
correct display of "techniques used", which was one of the culprits in
this issue.
There is no clear cut resolution to this case. The rules were
deficient, the entry has borderline use of third party content and our
internal processes had also glitches. Based on this very ambiguous
situation the judgement has been that the results will stay as they are.
We will take lessons learned here and improve for next year.
