AssemblyTV is, therefore, on its annual lookout for sceners. We are searching for compo studio guests for this year's event. Our compo lineup has changed quite a bit with the decisions to drop 64k in favor of 1k intro compo to bring back some of the challenge of the old days and extreme music in favor of dancing vs. listening compos because those are open to all platforms. For details, check out http://www.assembly.org/summer12/demoscene If you are an experienced coder, musician or graphician or just a huge fan of the scene and would want to join our studio as a guest, drop a few words about yourself and the compos you're interested in to arttu.haglund at assemblytv.net or query luuk on IRCnet! You can also help by spreading the word. If you feel up to it, we are also still looking for a second studio host for this year to take care of ~50% of the compo studios. You'll be pairing up with our trusty Matthew 'dotwaffle' Walster. Full organizer benefits. Contact me if this is something you might be interested in. P.S. Besides the usual comments about compo quality and entry feedback, I'm rooting for discussion about the new compo rules, whether it's been a good idea or not and why. If you feel you have anything constructive to say about the matter, the compo studios are the perfect place. This topic has created much discussion so far and it'd be great to talk about it live with both sceners and party organizers present. -- luuk / 6th Fire Arttu Haglund / ASMORG^LiveCrew AssemblyTV Compo studio producer -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Message-ID: <81F6F1F2-5DAD-4A2E-95E5-DA6C6CDF34BB@assembly.org> Hi all! ASSEMBLY Summer 2012 is less than a month away, and we are hard at work making our 21st event an outstanding one! And an outstanding party needs not just one, but two invitation intros! =) Our sincere thanks to Dekadence, Extend and AteBit for their hard work! http://www.assembly.org/summer12/news/invtro ASSEMBLY continues the tradition of having the demoscene's biggest prize pool for compos. Our total (incl. gaming tourneys) this year will exceed ?50.000 and all 1st place prizes will be pure cash. Full prize list here: http://www.assembly.org/summer12/demoscene/prizes Our good friends at Tinkercad, who are doing a real cool "solid 3D modeling in web browser to do your own 3D prints" service and are demoscene alumni (e.g. Memon / Moppi) are sponsoring ASM and looking for more talented sceners to join their team. Tinkercad is giving out 15 free oldskool entry tickets and all you need to do is to enter their raffle: https://tinkercad.com/about/asm12 Talking about demoscene alumni, one of Finland's biggest pop bands is Poets of the Fall, founded in part by Captain / Image, of Space Debris and Beyond Music mod fame, will be performing live on Thursday 2nd of August on the main stage. http://www.poetsofthefall.com/ We are also putting together a kickass seminar program. Stay tuned for the announcement soon! The party is btw nearly sold out in terms of computer places, but there's still some room on the oldskool area. Be sure to book your place at https://tickets.assembly.org See you at ASM from 2nd to 5th of August in Helsinki! -- Jussi Laakkonen partner, co-founder ASSEMBLY Organizing Abyss // ASMORG & FC www.assembly.org mobile +358-40-582 3959 mail PL 160, 00381 Helsinki, Finland -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... We are throwing a barbeque at Boozembly to celebrate the upcoming launch of Everyplay, our new service for easily recording iPhone & iPad game replays into video without any performance loss, and sharing those fun game moments with friends. Everyplay has gotten a rave response in private beta from game developers around the world, and we are gearing up towards full launch this fall. If you are working on an iOS game, come grab some tasty BBQ with us and check out live demos of Everyplay. The barbeque will fired up on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the Boozembly hills from 18 o'clock onwards (weather permitting and as long as we've got meat to grill). If you want to work on ground breaking tech, that is changing how players find iOS games, come and talk with us at Boozembly! We are hiring senior iOS game engine programmers, iOS programmers, web frontend and backend developers to join our team of 20 folks in central Helsinki, Finland. We are working pretty hardcode iOS tech for leading game developers around the world to let their users to share what they love about their games. If you happen to know someone who wants to work on cutting edge tools for game developers, please let them know about Applifier and if your friend joins our team, him and you will both get brand new MacBook 15" Retina laptops courtesy of us. Look for the Applifier crew at Boozembly hills and come get your BBQ! =) -- Jussi Laakkonen partner, co-founder ASSEMBLY Organizing Abyss // ASMORG & FC www.assembly.org mobile +358-40-582 3959 mail PL 160, 00381 Helsinki, Finland
