We've got room for a couple of sessions and I'd love to invite sceners to come talk about their latest creations. If you have an interesting idea for a talk, please drop me line at abyss at assembly.org. P.S. Anyone on the list can post to list btw. So if you are looking e.g. for a representative to hand in your compo entry or otherwise want to create a scener hookup during ASM (well, everyone will be at Boozembly anyway =)), fire away. From jussi.laakkonen at assembly.org Wed Jul 10 00:28:33 2013 From: jussi.laakkonen at assembly.org (Jussi Laakkonen) Date: Wed, 10 Jul 2013 00:28:33 +0300 Subject: [ASM scene] Android OpenGL hacker wanted for project Message-ID: <51DC8081.8070305@assembly.org> Sorry for the offtopic message, but this is potentially relevant for folks on the list. We're looking for experienced, low-level, OpenGL hacker for an Android freelance project at my dayjob at Everyplay (www.everyplay.com). Everyplay is a SDK integrated into 100 iOS games that creates a video replay of the game session and let's players share it (yikes, gamer stuff on the scener list - I'm jinxing it =)). We are at pre-alpha for Everyplay on Android and are looking for a coder to hop in on a project basis to help us in debugging rare OpenGL conditions, performance optimizations and sorting through the Android fragmentation mess on GPUs. Remote work is completely fine. Work can start immediately and we'll pay *very* well (yes, rly). Because this is a pretty much job for a demo coder (close to the metal, all kinds hackery & tricks involved) I wanted to post it here. Apologies for the late night spam. Hit me off the list at abyss at assembly.org if interested. Finnish Game Jam is running a game jam at Assembly Summer ?13. This first Assembly game jam, or ASM FGJ, will be a small pilot project of about 20 jammers. If all goes well, it might become a tradition. During a game jam, game development professionals, students and hobbyists alike create games in small groups, from start to finish, during a single weekend. The game jam is open for everyone, but due to the limited size, we will only be able to fit in the fastest ones to sign up. At the moment we still have a couple of seats left, so if you act quickly you might have a chance to be involved in this historical event. To sign up and for more information, contact fgjhelsinki at gmail.com as soon as possible. Pehu PS if you missed oldskool computer place, this might be your way to get one ;) From pekka.aakko at assembly.org Tue Jul 30 18:43:40 2013 From: pekka.aakko at assembly.org (Pekka Aakko) Date: Tue, 30 Jul 2013 18:43:40 +0300 Subject: [ASM scene] Reaktor Friday Lunch & Sauna Message-ID: <51F7DF2C.4080909@assembly.org> A short message from our sponsor, you might be interested: Reaktor invites you to a cosy developer lunch on Friday 2-Aug at 13:00 - 15:00 @ Assembly.
