Today marks the tenth anniversary of the first release of Crinkler.<br>
Some of you might remember our talk at Assembly 2005, where we<br>
introduced this new way of compressing 4k intros.<br>

Ten years and hundreds of 4k intros later, we are currently preparing<br>
a major update to Crinkler, which will be out at some point before<br>
this year's Assembly.<br>
<br>
The main new feature is a special mode for compressing 1k intros which<br>
typically saves more than 100 bytes compared to usual Crinkler<br>
compression. Assembly has become one of the primary battlegrounds for<br>
1k intros, so the timing is fortunate (and not entirely coincidental).<br>
<br>
Thus, we are reaching out to everybody who are working on a 1k intro<br>
for Assembly (and plan to use Crinkler) to tell you that you have 100<br>
bytes more to spend. :)<br>

In order for this improvement to benefit every contestant - to enable<br>
a general quality lift in the compo - it is important to spread these<br>
news as widely as possible among potential contestants. Thus, we are<br>
also reaching out to the Assembly organizers to ask for assistance and<br>
suggestions for this "marketing campaign".<br>

Some ideas for places where it could be relevant to advertise (apart<br>
from Pouet and other such public places):<br>
- In the 1k compo rules<br>
- In the 1k compo summary<br>
- On the big screen during the party<br>
