Hey all,

We have been discussing internally a lot how we can do the Assembly
event in these extraordinary times. We asked you about your wishes in
our questionnaire, we got a lot of answers and good feedback. I really
appreciated it, our team appreciated it. Thank you! The normal "you guys are killing the scene and
it's all doom and gloom in the future" messages were also there. Thanks
also for keeping up the 20+ year tradition on that - never lose the
negativeness and pessimism, that's the key keeping the scene alive :-)

The main question for us was the online
event vs physical one. The responses were quite equal, but not
entirely when we compare different channels where we asked about this.
The majority of votes were for physical event. So we will be doing most
of the demoscene related activities on a physical event in October.
There will be main screen & stage and hopefully scenelounge as well
(this is more dependent on our staff being able to run the lounge).
Naturally, when your budget and event size is cut for over 50%, things
are not the same as earlier. But I am sure we all understand that, we'll
get back to the normal next year, I hope.

However, since the online option got many votes and our own staff wants
to do it, so we are looking to create online summer experience in the
original dates in August and then physical event in October. More info
on the details once we iron them out, hopefully in 2-3 weeks time we
should have enough information to publish it to all.

What about TRSAC? I am happy to tell you that we have had good initial
talks with Puryx and his team and these discussions will continue. I
feel positive that we can overcome those issues we both have identified
running the "joint competitions", but they are more on technical side
and I am confident we can sort them out. At the end of the day I would
love to offer both TRSAC and Assembly visitors the experience of a good
party in our own ways, and combined good compos. TRSAC will provide the
classic rubber ducks to all winners I heard :) We will be posting about
the progress once we get the work done in our workgroup.

So summa summarum:

- We will have physical event with compos and all (fingers crossed
because of COVID-19)
- Most probably we will organize also online event to see how it works
and have some original dates fun
- There will be bigscreen and stage and people get there to celebrate
their trophies
- TRSAC x ASSEMBLY is on the planning table and it's progressing
