Hei assykansa! ASM Wintereistä on pikkuhiljaa toivuttu ja on aika siirtää
katseet tulevaan. Moni on varmasti jo pohtinut Summereita ja tämä
uutiskirje onkin omistettu yksinomaan niille. Lue siis uusimmat infot ja
toimintaohjeet tästä!

ASSEMBLY SUMMER 2021 (YET ANOTHER) FALL EDITION

Olemme tänäkin vuonna seuranneet tarkkaan koronatilannetta Suomessa ja
vaikka valonpilkahduksia on nähtävissä rokotusten ja koronatilanteen
suhteen emme usko, että tilanne elokuussa vielä on niin vakaa, että
tuhansien kävijöiden tiivis sisätapahtumaa olisi mahdollista järjestää.
Haluamme tarjota mahdollisimman turvallisen tapahtuman niin kävijöille kuin
omalle henkilöstöllemme, joten päädyimme siirtämään tapahtuman jo viime
viestissäkin mainitsemmillemme varapäiville, etelä-suomen syyslomaviikolle
21-24.10.2021.

Tapahtuman pituus ei muutu, mutta tiloja on käytössämme vähemmän ja
pystymme rakentamaan tapahtumaan noin pari tuhatta konepaikkaa. Tiloina on
käytössä Winter-tapahtumista tutut 4-5 hallit. Muu ohjelma pysyy pitkälti
samanlaisena kuin summereissa yleensä, casual turnauksia ja demoscene
compoja on luvassa varmasti! Compoista julkaistaan tarkemmat tiedot
toukokuun aikana. Mutta tästä pikkuhiljalleen kohti normaalia.

Uskomme, että tehty ratkaisu on tässä tilanteessa kaikkien kannalta paras.
Toivottavasti ensi vuonna tilanne on jo helpommin ennustettava ja pääsemme
juhlimaan Assemblyn 30-vuotista matkaa isosti yhdessä! Ensi vuoden
tapahtumia suunnittelemme perinteisille päivämäärilleen; Winter
talvilomaviikolla 8, 24-27.2.2022 ja Summer 2022 omalla tutulla paikallaan
elokuun alussa 4-7.8.2022.

MINULLA ON LIPPU, MITÄ TEEN?

Sinulla on muutama vaihtoehto ostetun lipun suhteen:

Vaihtoehto 1:

Sinun ei tarvitse tehdä mitään, jos pääset osallistumaan tapahtumaan
lokakuussa. Lippusi tullaan siirtämään suoraan Summer 2021 tapahtumaan
lokakuulle. Konepaikat valitaan uudelleen, sillä tapahtuman paikkakarttaan
tulee muutoksia. Pääset valitsemaan uudet paikat ennen lipunmyynnin alkua,
touko-kesäkuun vaihteessa. Lisätiedot lähetetään sähköpostitse
osoitteeseen, joka on ilmoitettu lipun oston yhteydessä.

Vaihtoehto 2:

Voit siirtää lippusi ensi vuoden Winter 2022 tapahtumaan.

Vaihtoehto 3:

Voit pyytää palautusta lipuistasi ja saat rahasi takaisin palveluehtojen
mukaisesti.

LIPUNMYYNTI LOKAKUUN SUMMER 2021 -TAPAHTUMAAN

Tavoitteenamme on avata siirretyn tapahtuman lipunmyynti kesäkuun
alkupuolella. Ilmoitamme lipunmyynnin avaamisesta etukäteen kun ajankohta
on varmistunut. Työstämme vielä tapahtuma-alueen karttoja sekä tilojen
käyttöä. Lipunmyynti tulee tapahtumaan suoraan assembly.org nettisivujen
kautta. Samalla lippu.fi yhteistyömme päättyy.

Lipunmyynti siirrettyyn tapahtumaan tullaan avaamaan porrastetusti.

Ensimmäisenä paikkansa pääsevät valitsemaan ne, joilla on jo aiemmista
tapahtumista siirretty lippu. Tämän jälkeen lipunmyynti avautuu kaikille.

OPEN CALL: ASSEMBLY X OPERA BEYOND

Hae mukaan Wintereillä julkaistuun täysin uuteen konseptikilpailuun, jonka
järjestämme yhdessä Suomen Kansallisoopperan ja -baletin kanssa!
Tehtävänanto liittyy Kansallisoopperan vuonna 2022 ensi-iltansa saavaan
sirkusaiheiseen päänäyttämöteokseen, jota rikastetaan immersiivisillä ja
interaktiivisilla elementeillä. Konsepteista parhaat etenevät
finaalivaiheeseen, jossa finalistit esittelevät ideansa syksyllä Assemblyn
päälavalla. Palkintoraati valitsee voittajan. Ilmoittautuminen on auki 31.7

Lopuksi

Vaikka kulunut vuosi on ollut kaikkea muuta kuin tavallinen, pyrimme
pitämään elämässä jotain pysyvää ja se on Assyt! Toivotaan, että yhteisellä
panoksella päästään vihdoin hallille partyilemaan taas lokakuussa. Jos

Assembly Summer 2021 postponed to October.

We have yet again followed the corona (COVID-19) situation in Finland and
even though it looks more promising than last year, we don’t think it’s
safe to assume we could have a large indoor-event in August. We are
committed to building a safe event for our participants and staff.
Therefore we have made the decision to reschedule Assembly Summer 2021 from
August to October.

The new dates for Summer 2021 Fall edition are THU-SUN 21st Oct to 24th
Oct. That's week 42, the time for fall break from schools in southern
Finland. The event will be held in the same space as Winter events, halls
4-5. The length of the event stays the same, but we don’t have as much
space as originally, so there can be changes to the original programme. One
thing that will definitely NOT change is the demoscene compos! So make sure
to mark your calendars for working on your entries, more info on compos
will be published in May.

We firmly believe this is the best decision in this situation. Hopefully
next year the situation will be easier to predict and we will be able to
celebrate the Assembly’s 30th anniversary big together! We will be planning
next year’s events for their traditional dates; Winter 2022 will happen on
February 24th to 27th, and Summer 2022 in early August, 4th to 7th, as
normally.

I HAVE A TICKET, NOW WHAT?

If you have purchased your ticket, you have three options:

Option 1:

You don’t have to do anything if you plan to attend the event in October.
Your ticket will be transferred directly to the Summer 2021 event in
October. The computer places will need to be re-selected, as there will be
changes to the layout. You will be able to choose new seats before the
start of ticket sales, at the turn of May-June. Additional information will
be sent by e-mail to the address provided when purchasing the ticket.

Option 2:

You can transfer your tickets to next year’s Winter 2022 event.

Option 3:

You can request a refund for your tickets and get your money back according
to the terms of service.

TICKET SALES TO OCTOBER ASSEMBLY SUMMER 2021

We are planning to open the ticket sales in early June. We are currently
working on the event’s layout and maps, so stay with us for a while longer.
We will announce the dates for the ticket sales when they have been set.

Tickets are sold directly through the assembly.org website.

Ticket sales for the postponed event will be opened in two stages:

Those who already have a ticket transferred from previous events can choose
their seat first.

After that, ticket sales open to everyone.

OPEN CALL: ASSEMBLY X OPERA BEYOND

What if instead of the big screen, you could experience your competition
entry on the main stage of the Finnish Opera house? During the Winter event
we launched a completely new concept competition together with The Finnish
National Opera and Ballet, and the submission for entries is now open until
July 31st!

Take part in our new open call and propose a technological concept for a
circus themed opera performance, premiering at the FNOB year 2022. Your
canvas is a performance, CircOpera 2.0, that combines circus and opera into
a spectacle never seen before. Your concept can utilize any new technology
or a combination of them – adding interactivity, immersion or inspiration
in the show in new ways. Teams can use XR, AI, projection mapping, game
engines, code or whatever technological tools they wish. The only criteria
is – the concept should enrich the spectacle in ways not experienced
before.

Build a team and make your magic come alive on stage. Let's take LIVE to
new heights!
