*(english message follows)ASSEMBLY SCENE LOUNGE Assyja on järjestetty
vuodesta 1992 lähtien ja tapahtumassa on aina ollut hyvin voimakkaana
elementtinä tietokonedemot ja mediataiteen tekeminen (grafiikka, musa,
ohjelmointi jne). Puhutaan siis demoscenestä

tärkeä - osa Assemblyä. Sen takia koen, että tästä tehdään erillinen kirje
juuri Sinulle. Uusi tai kokemattomampi assykävijä saattaa ihmetellä, mikä
se tämä “demoscene” oikein on? Mitä ovat ne kilpailut, jossa päähallin
ruudut täyttää erilaiset jännän näköiset tuotokset, musiikki ja grafiikka?
Samalla lailla kun peliturnaukset vetävät katsomot täyteen, niin tekee myös
demokisat. Aikanaan demoscene oli vain underground kulttuuria, Assemblyn
tehtävä oli tuoda tätä taidetta esille kaikille harrastajille ja suurelle
yleisölle. Mielestämme demot taidemuotona on niin makee juttu, ettei sitä
kannata piilotella hämyisiin halleihin. Assembly tapahtumana on uniikki,
sillä saman katon alle sopii sekä pelit että taide - ja suurin osa meidän
kävijöistä tykkää molemmista.Viime vuonna testasimme scene loungea
pienimuotoisesti ja onnistuimme piilottamaan sen niin hyvin, ettei sinne
välttis osattu edes löytää) - mutta palaute oli hyvä, tänä vuonna ylpeänä
esittelemme päivitetyn scene loungen

TELIA.Scene lounge on paikka, jonne kuka tahansa voi tulla tutustumaan
demoscenee, kultuuriin ja itse demoihin. Vanhemmat scenettäjät voivat tulla
tapaamaan toisiaan. Loungessa on ohjelmaa laidasta

kompoista, mm fast graffa ja musiikki, on siirretty osaksi loungen
ohjelmaa. Sen lisäksi loungesta löytyy extrakisoja, joihin kaikki voivat
osallistua ja osallistumiseen sinun ei tarvitse olla monitaituri. Kaikki
osallistujat tieto- ja taitotasosta riippumatta ovat tervetulleita. Assyjen
omien seminaarien lisäksi tarjoilemme muutaman oman eksklusiivisen session,
jotka löydät vain scene loungesta. Jos demojen tekeminen kiinnostaa, lounge
tarjoaa myös demo making workshoppeja.Tarjolla on myös demoshowta loungen
omalta tykiltä, valikoituja parhaita tuotoksia kautta aikain. Lounge löytyy
Assemblyn kumppanialueelta hallista 6, seminaaripisteen läheltä (ovi 6.6
läheltä). Tervetuloa tutustumaan ja juttelemaan scenettäjien kanssa. Ja
ymmärtämään mitä nämä makeen näköiset jutut Assyjen päähallin screenillä
oikein ovatkaan. Ja lopuksi vielä hyvä uutinen kaikille, jotka eivät pääse
Assyille: olemme saaneet sovittua jälleen kerran, että YLE TV2 näyttää
assyjen demoskaban suorana heti kun se pääsee alkamaan pääturnauksemme
jälkeen lauantaina kello 23 jälkeen. Kiitos tästä jälleen kerran YLElle

ASSEMBLY SCENE LOUNGE

Assembly has been organized since 1992 and we have had demoscene with us
from the beginning. Making demos, graphics, music and all related stuff is
in our DNA. We are talking about the demoscene
<https://www.assembly.org/summer18/demoscene>. I feel like this is a good
reason for a separate posting about it.

New Assembly visitor might wonder what is this so called “demoscene”? What
are those competitions, graphics and music that fill the main hall screen
from time to time? Like the gaming tournaments are popular, so are the
democompos filling the grand stand. For a long time, demoscene was
underground culture that very few knew about and one task of Assembly was
to promote it to the general public. We felt that everyone should know
about this, not just few people participating to the scene. Assembly as an
event is unique in the respect that the gamers and demosceners live in
peace under the same event. And that I feel is super good and

makes Assembly what it is today.

So, last year we tested the scene lounge and god a ton of good feedback.
This year, we proudly present the new scene lounge

It is a place where everyone can come and see what the demos are all about.
Old sceners can come and meet & chill, interested folks can check out the
phenomena. There is a lot of programme from beginners to advanced sceners:

Part of the competitions, like fast gfx and music, has been moved to be
part of the lounge programme. In addition, we will have many new additional
compos, open to everyone. We will also have special seminars and demoshows
that are exclusive to demoscene lounge. There are workshops where you can
learn to make demos and all the extra competitions can be participated by
the beginners also.

You can find the demoscene lounge from our partner area at hall 6 (door
6.6), next to the seminar stage. Please come and see what the demoscene is
all about, meet fellow sceners and participate. And get some understanding
what these marvelous works of art are that we show on our main screen from
time to time.

And some good news for people who cannot make to Assembly this year: YLE
TV2 is showing the Assembly demo compo live on national TV once again,
right after the main game tournament ends (its also live on TV). Demos
start sometime after 23:00 local time. Thank you YLE <3
